Dato Tan Chin Nam (1926-2018)

Malaysian entrepreneur, developer and chess patron. He was one of the richest businessmen in Malaysia.
FIDE Deputy President (1982-1986). FIDE Honorary Member (1999).

Back in the 1970s, Dato was the first chess sponsor in China. More recently, between 2004 and 2018, he was financing a chess festival organized every year in Kuala Lumpur.
