Crisan Alexandru (02.08.1963)

Romanian Grandmaster which got his Grandmaster title in 2001 after a long struggle with FIDE which has to investigate accusations about some tournaments results said to be arranged. Crisan was invited to participate in the Vidmar Memorial GM tournament to show whether he was deserving of his rating. Not surprisingly, he scored only one draw and lost the rest of his games.

For some years he was the president of the Romanian Chess Federation.

Best results: Won Kladovo in 2001.

Peak rating: 2635 in 1998.
