Cook Eugene Beauharnais (19.05.1830 – 19.03.1915)

Cook-Eugene-BeauharnaisAmerican problemist, pseudonym E.B.C. Famous composer and also demolisher of problems. One of the first and best North American problemists he has composed 800 problems. He was President of the New Jersey Chess Association and problem editor at Chess Monthly. Collector, he amassed the third largest chess library at that time which was donated to the Princeton University after his death. Author of American Chess Nuts (1868).
