Hungarian Grandmaster (1986) born in Ukraine and living in Budapest and in the US since 1992. FIDE Trainer (2004). Former coach of F. Caruana.
European Junior Champion 1979/80. USSR champion in 1985 after play-off. Bronze at the World blitz championship (unofficial) in 1988.
Best results: Won or shared first at Amsterdam 1980, Irkutsk 1983, Copenhagen 1984 and 1986, Polanica Zdroj 1988, US World Open and Prague 1989, Marseilles 1990, Dortmund, and Altensteig 1990 and 1991, Neu Isenburg 1991, San Bernardino 1991, Buenos Aires 1992, Osterkar 1995, Aubervilliers 1996, Corsica Open 1998, Hungarian Zonal (joint) 2000, Lviv Stein Memorial 2000 and Abu Dhabi Open 2008.
He was also a member of the Hungarian national team which got a silver medal at the 1999 European team championship. Coach of Fabiano Caruana.
