SHAMKIR

Shamkir, a small city in Azerbaijan which is hosting annually the Vugar Gashimov Memorial, a top chess round-robin tournament with leading world players. The tournament is mainly generously sponsored by the chess-patron Mahir Mammedov and the state oil company Socar.
