NOVGOROD

A Russian municipality located between Moscow and St. Petersburg which sponsored and hosted four super tournaments between 1993 and 1997. The super tournament was a double Round Robin which included the best players of that time. The winners were: 1993 (cat 19) Garry Kasparov, 1994 (category 19) Garry Kasparov, 1996 (category 19) Veselin Topalov, 1997 (cat 19) Garry Kasparov.
