Beverwijk, a Dutch city situated between Amsterdam and the North Sea which since 1938 was the venue of a national then international chess festival. In 1968 the Festival moved to the nearby village of Wijk aan Zee. For more than 60 years the Wijk aan Zee festival was sponsored by the Hoogovens Factory then was renamed
