Bláthy Otto Titusz (11.08.1860 – 26.09.1939)
Hungarian chess composer. Author of two volumes of more-move problems (Vielzügige Schachaufgaben) in 1889 and 1890. Mechanical engineer. Honored member of the Academy of Sciences of Hungary, honored Doctor of higher technical schools of Budapest and Vienna. Since 1879 he published more than 400 compositions with a huge number of variations of moves. Famous as a specialist in composing of the problems-monsters (one of it – mate in 257 moves), the total number of his problems is record-breaking- 25.000.
