Russian Grandmaster (2001). He was the youngest Grandmaster from Saint-Petersburg in the 300-year history of the city. Vice Champion of Europe in 2013, Champion of Russia in 2006.
Twice Russian U14 Champion in 1998 and in 1999, St. Petersburg U18 Champion. Bronze medallist at the World U16 Championship in 2001, a Silver medallist at the Russian U20 Championship in 2005.
Best results: Maccabiah Games (ISR) 2001, 1th; Essent Open Tournament 2003, 1th; Suetin Memorial (RUS) 2002, 1th; Petrov Memorial (RUS) 2002, 1th Geneva Open 2004, 1-2nd; Aeroflot 2007, 1th; Biel 2008, 1th. Also a quarter-finalist at the 2007 World Cup; Biel MTO in 2005, 2nd; Dortmund in 2007, 2nd; Astrakhan Grand Prix 2010, 2-7th; St Petersburg Open 2017, 1th. In 2012, he shared first in the Russian Superfinals but ultimately placed 6th after the tiebreak games.
A participant in the 2004 World Championship and 2006, 2008 and 2010 Olympiads.
