Al-Modiahki Mohamad (01.06.1974)

The first Qatari Grandmaster (1998). A talented Arab player who was coached by Gennadi Kuzmin, Vladimir Akopian and Victor Bologan. He is now FIDE International Director and President of the Qatari chess federation.

Mohamed was awarded a gold medal at the Olympiad of Yerevan in 1996 and of Elista in 1998 for the best performance (7½/8) at board one. He was also was awarded a bronze medal for best individual performance at board 1 at Moscow in 1994 and at Bled in 2002 Olympiads.

Four times Arab Champion between 1993 and 2002. Arab Blitz Champion 2011. He was a regular winner of FIDE Zonal tournaments and was a participant in all world chess championships between 1997 and 2004.

He is married to Zhu Chen, the 2001 World Women Champion.

Best ELO: 2588 in 2003.
