Dutch Grandmaster. Graduated in computer science, He started chess at 5 years old. Vice Dutch Champion. Dutch Champion U13 and U20.

Best results: won or shared first at Sonnevank, Den Bosch 1998, Vlissingen in 2000 and 2005, Nancy 2005 and the Dutch Open 2006, Amsterdam Open 2006, Sants Barcelona 2007, Utrecht Open 2008, HSG Open (NED) 2010.

A participant in the World Championships 1997 and 1999, in the 2009 World Cup and in six Olympiads between 1996 and 2006. A member of the national team which won the European Team Championship in 2001.

Co-author with Geert Van der Stricht and Sipke Ernst of six theoretical books part of the publication: Tactics in the Chess Opening (2003-2010).
