Swiss Grandmaster born in Russia. He became an Israeli citizen in 1991 and then got a Swiss passport ten years later. Swiss Champion in 2015. Silver medalist at the World Junior Championship in 1992. Russian Junior Champion in 1988 and 1989.

Best results: won or shared first at Bad Ragaz 1994, Biel 1996, Groningen 1998, Australia Open championship 1999, Winterthur 2001, Benasque 2002, Geneva 4 days 2003, North American Open 2002 and 2003, Geneva Open 2004, Sevilla 2004, Chicago Open, US Open and Corsica Masters in 2005, San Marino and Chicago Open in 2006 and 2007, Morelia Open, President Cup (AZE) in 2007 and Gibraltar Open 2009.
