Malakhov Vladimir (27.11.1980)
Russian Grandmaster. A part-time nuclear physicist. European Rapid Champion 2009, World U14 Champion in 1994, runner-up at the World U12 in 1992, Russian U12 Champion in 1992. He was a member of the gold-medal-winning Russian team at the World Team Chess Championship 2009.
Best results: won or shared first in Budapest FS 07 1995, Porto St. Georgio 1997, Minsk 1998, Geneva Open 2000 and Val d’ Aoste 2002, Moscow Champion 2003, Benidorm 2005, Bosnia 2006, Solin GM 2006, Benidorm rapid in 2007, Politiken Cup 2008, Petrov Memorial 2013 (LAT), St Petersburg Summer 2016. In a match played in 2010, he beat Mateusz Bartel 4-1.
A semi-finalist of the 2009 World Cup and a participant in the 2010 Olympiad.
