Indian Grandmaster (2008). Indian Champion 2011. World Junior Champion in 2008. Commonwealth Chess Champion in 2013, 2015 and 2016.

In 2002, Gupta entered the Limca Book of Records after becoming the youngest National Junior Champion (under-19) champion at the age of 13 years and 10 days. At fifteen he became India’s youngest International Master, and at eighteen India’s 17th Grandmaster.  Indian U20 champion in 2006 and 2007.
