Grivas smlGreek Grandmaster (1993). Greek Champion in 1984 and 1996. Greek Cadet Champion in 1981. FIDE International Organizer, FIDE International Arbiter and FIDE Senior Trainer. In 1998 Olympiad he was awarded the Silver medal for the second best individual result at board 3, the only Olympic medal Greece has ever won to this day.

Best results: Cap d’Agde 1983, 1st; Kardistsa IM 1984, 1st; World U20 1985, 4-9th; Munich IM 1986, 2-3rd; Athens 1986 and 1991, 1st; Ano Liosia Open 1992, 1st; Troll Masters Gausdal 1993, 2nd; Katerini GP 1993, 2-5th; Ikaria Open 1997, 2-5th; Glifada Open 2001, 1st; Budapest FS 2001, 2nd; Nikea Open 2003, 2nd. A participant in 8 Olympiads between 1984 and 1998.

From 1984 to this day he has written 48 chess books, essays and studies (in Greek and in English), that are used as the basis for the chess improvement of hundreds of young chess players. In 1996 he was voted the Greek chess player of the year.
