Israeli Grandmaster (2000) and coach born in Ukraine, he emigrated to Israel in 1990.
World Champion U14 in 1994 and U16 in 1996. Co-Champion of Israel 2001.
Best results: winner or shared first at Tel Aviv International 2000 and Winterthur Open 2002. Also World U14 in 1993, 4th; Baden Open 2000, Baden Open 2000, 2nd; Biel MTO 2000, 2nd; Acropolis 2003, 2nd.
He doesn’t play international event since 2005.
He is the co-author of St Luis 2005.
On October 22, 2010, Alik Gershon took the Guinness record for simultaneous chess games after a marathon 19-hour match against 523 players. He won 86 percent of the games he played against amateurs in Tel Aviv. He won 454, lost 11 and drew the other 58.
