Norwegian Grandmaster (1995). Norwegian Champion in 1992, 1996 and Vice Champion in 1986. Won or shared first at Gausdal in 1990, 1992 and 1995, Aars Bank Cup 1995, Gausdal 1997, Asker 1997, Cappelle la Grande 2001, Norwegian Open Championship 2002. A participant to all Olympiad between 1988 and 1996. Gausel is also the chess columnist for the Oslo newspaper Dagbladet. Best ELO: 2555 in 1998. Norwegian Grandmaster (1995).
