Best results: won or shared first at Reggio Emilia 1964, Bordeaux 1964, Monte-Carlo II 1969, Baya 1971, Baja 1971, Totograd 1972, Oberwart and Balatonberry 1982, Benidorm 1983 and Ramsgate 1984, at Perpignan Open 1987 and at Budapest Open in 1987.

A participant in six Olympiads between 1958 and 1974. In 1958, he took an individual gold medal and an bronze team medals.
