Fedorowicz John (27.09.1958)

fedorowiczAmerican Grandmaster (1986) and coach.  Fedorowicz became a professional chess player in 1978 after earning the International Master title.

His other achievements in chess include tying for the U.S. Junior Championship 1977 and winning outright in 1978, U.S. Open Champion 1981, winning the World Open Championship at least three times (1982, 1989 and 2000) and winning the New York Open in 1989. Also the winner in Thessaloniki and Ramsgate 1981, London 1982, Cannes 1987, Wijk aan Zee II 1990, Mexico 1991 and a participant in two Olympiads.

John has been a second or advisor many times as he was for Gata Kamsky during the 1996 FIDE World Championship match against Anatoly Karpov.  In recent years he has been involved in coaching children, giving private lessons and teaching at chess camps.
