Ermenkov Evgenij (29.09.1949)

Bulgarian Grandmaster (1977) who played for some time under the Palestinian flag. Graduate in Economy. Ermenkov was  Bulgarian Champion in 1973, 1975, 1976, 1979 and 1984 (jointly).

Best results: winner or shared first at Varna 1973, 1974, 1983 and 1986, Albena 1977 and 1979, Plovdiv 1978, Prague 1985, Dieren, Antwerp, Brugge 1990, Belgrade 1991 and Dubai 2001, Imperia 2005, Halkidiki 2008. Second at the Balkan individual championship in 2002.

A participant in the Olympiads from 1978 till 1996 for Bulgaria and between 2004 and 2006 for Palestine. In 2004 Olympiad he was awarded a gold medal for the best individual performance at board one, in 2006 he got the silver the second best performance at board one.

Former coach of Kuwait, Lebanon, Palestine and San Salvador.

Peak rating: 2520 in 1978.
