US Grandmaster (1997) born in Cuba. Cuban Champion in 1995, 1996 and co-Champion in 1999.

Best results: Winner or shared first at Havana Open and Bassarate in 1992, Havana Open in 1994, St. Juan y Martin GM in 1995, St. Martin Open in 1995, Mondarix Open in 1996, San Salvador zonal in 1998 and Virginia Beach Open in 2002. Also finished 2^nd-4^th Capablanca Memorial in 1999, 3^rd at Curacao Open in 2002.

A participant in the 1999 World Championship and in the Olympiads of 1994, 1996 and 1998.

He moved to the USA in 2001 and won Los Angeles in 2003, World Open 2007, 1^st-6^th; Foxwoods Open 2008, 1^st-4^th; Richardson GM 2008, 1^st, SPICE Cup (USA) 2010, 1^st.
