In Carlsbad 1929, the Austrian Master A. Berger suggested the founding of a ‘club’ for every man who actually lost to the upstart female. Berger was the first member and Samisch was the second. Later other prestigious names entered into the ‘club’ like Euwe, Alexander, Reshevski, Sultan Khan, Winter, Golombek, etc.
