A form of a non-orthodox problem first proposed by Bezel in Deutsche Schachzeitung in 1848 in which the composer aims to achieve a setting showing the maximum possible of moves of a single type, such as checks, mates, stalemates… According to Tim Krabbé, the following example could be a world record of the maximum series of cross-checks. The position has to be legal, and no promotion is allowed.
