Baron Ignaz von Kolisch ( April 6, 1837, Pozsony/Pressburg/Bratislava – April 30, 1889, Vienna), An Austrian Master who was considered as one the best world players in 1870’s.
Anatoly Bykhovsky (1934), an Israeli Grandmaster, International Arbiter and Honored Coach of the USSR who was the  champion of Moscow in 1963.
Darko Anic (1957),  a French Grandmaster, coach and author born in Croatia, who was the 1985 Croatian Champion.
Spartak Vysochin (1975), a Ukrainian Grandmaster.
Ruofan Li (1978), a Chinese-Singaporean International Master and Woman Grandmaster who won the 2001 Women’s Asian and 2002 .Women’s University Chess Championships.
Denes Boros (1988), an Hungarian Grandmaster who is studying and living in the USA.
Sarah Hoolt (1988), a German Woman Grandmaster.
Hrant Melkumyan (1989), An armenian Grandmaster who was the European Blitz Champion in 2011.
Jorden Van Foreest (1999), a Dutch Grandmaster who became the 2016 Dutch Champion.

DEATH

Georgy Ilivitsky (1921-1989), an Soviet International Master, a Russian champion in 1948, 1949. He committed suicide by jumping out of a window.

CHESS EVENTS

1956 Vassily Smyslov of USSR, once again, won the double-round Candidates Tournament in Amsterdam with 11½/18.
1974 At the Candidates’ match, T. Petrosian informed the Arbiter’s Board that due to his illness he would not be able to continue the match. The match was stopped with the score of 3-1 and V. Korchnoi was declared a winner.
2000 Garry Kasparov won Chess Oscar for 1999. He topped Vladimir Kramnik and Alexander Khalifman RUS.
