Maximilián Samuel Rudolf Ujtelky (1915-12.12.1979), a Slovak Master and theoretician who shared 1st with Jiří Fichtl in Czechoslovak Chess Championship at Ostrava 1960.
Robert Eugene Byrne (1928-12.04.2013), an American Grandmaster who won the U.S. Championship in 1972, and was a World Chess Championship Candidate in 1974.
Lars Schandorff (1965), Danish Grandmaster and author who won the Danish Championship in 1988.
Viorel Iordachescu (1973), a Moldovan Grandmaster and FIDE Senior Trainer who was Moldovan Champion in 2016..
Gennadij Fish (1973), a German Grandmaster born in Ukraine.
Tatiana Shadrina (1974), a Russian Woman Grandmaster.
R B Ramesh (1976), an Indian Grandmaster.
Mark Bluvshtein (1988), a Soviet-born Canadian Grandmaster who became the youngest Canadian Grandmaster ever in 2004, at the age of 16. He is not active anymore.

DEATH

Edgard Colle (18.05.1897-1932) a Belgian chess master. he is remembered today primarily for his introduction of the chess opening now known as the Colle System.
Wolfgang Unzicker ((26.06.1925 – 2006),. a German Grandmaster who won the German Championship six times.
