Boris Verlinsky (1888-30.10.1950), a Soviet International Master who won the 6th USSR Championship. After the event, he was awarded the title of Soviet GM but the title was removed in 1931. It has been argued that this in order to make Mikhail Botvinnik the first Soviet GM.
Hermann Pilnik (1914-12.11.1981), an Argentine Grandmaster who won the Argentine Championships in 1942, 1945 and 1958.
Keith Arkell (1961), an English Grandmaster who became Wolrd Senior Champion.
Mingqian Wu (1960) a Chinese Woman Grandmaster.
Boris Avrukh (1978), an Israeli Grandmaster born in Kazakhstan who is living in Chicago. He won two

DEATH
Alexander Kotov (12.08.1913-1981) a Soviet Grandmaster, International Arbiter, coach, and writer. He won the Soviet title jointly with David Bronstein in 1948.
