Makropoulou Marina (03.12.1960)

Greek Woman Grandmaster (1985) born in Romania. Greek Women Champion in 1990, 1994, 1996, 1998, 1999, 2004,  2007 and 2011. Romanian Women’s Champion in 1984 and Romanian U20 Champion in 1976. Vice Women Senior  World Champion in 2015.

Best results: Romanian women championship 1980 and 1983, 3^rd; Women’s Zonal Bydgoszcz 1981, 1^st; Guingamp 2005, 1^st; Acropolis Women 2005, 3-5^th; Memorial Maria Albulet (ROM) 2009, 2^nd .

A participant in fifteen Women’s Olympiads since 1982 including one with Romania (1982) where she was awarded a team silver medal and an individual bronze medal for the third best performance at board 2.
A participant in the 1982 Women’s Interzonal where she finished 7th.

Marina Makropoulou is married with the International Master Georgios Makropoulos and was the daughter of Women Grandmaster Maria Pogorevici-Albuet (1932-2005).
