Lazarevic Milunka (01.12.1932-15.12.2018)

Lazarevic-MilunkaSerbian Woman Grandmaster and postwar Yugoslavia’s leading player. She was 11 times the Yugoslavian Women’s Champion. Co-winner of the Women’s Candidates Tournament in 1964. In 1971 she lost a Women’s Candidates’ match to Nana Alexandria 5½-4½.

Best results: Beverwijk and Belgrade 1958, 1st; Belgrade 1961, 1st; Ohrid 1971, 1st; Novi Sad 1980, 1st.

She collected several medals being a member of the national team which participated in the Women Olympiads between 1963 and 1984.
