ioselianiGeorgian Woman Grandmaster 1980 and International Master (1993). European Youth Champion (girls) 1978 and 1979. She was the USSR Women Champion in 1981 (together with Nona Gaprindashvili), 1982, 1986 and in 1987.

Best results: winner of Rio de Janeiro Interzonal, Tuzla Candidates 1987 and Chaltubo Candidates in 1988. Also Moscow 1984, 1st; Yer 1981 and 1987, 2nd; Sochi 1981, 1-2nd; Yatse 1982 and 1985, 1st; Spijkeniss 1988, 1st; Hamburg Mephisto 1990, 1st; Praha Mladi 1994,1st; Menchik Memorial 1996, 1st. She lost 1988 Women World Championship final match against Maya Chiburdanidze (+2-3=11) and the 1993 Women World Championship final match against Xie Jun 8½-2½ after knocking down surprisingly Zs. Polgar in the semi-finals.

A participant in the Women Olympiads from 1980 until 2002 winning five gold medal in total, twice with Russia (in 1980 and 1982) and three times with Georgia (1992, 1994 and 1996).

Retired from international chess in 2003, she was a member of the top world women players for more than 20 years.
