Chaudé De Silans Chantal (19.09.1919 – 05.09.2001)
French Women International Master (1950) and later received the title of Honorary Women Grandmaster. One of the first women to play in an Olympiad (1950).
Several times she became the Women French Champion, she got also a bronze medal at the men national championship in 1951.
At the Women’s Candidates Tournament of 1949-50 at Moscow, she shared the 5-7th places. Two years later she finished 8-10th and in 1955 he finished 10-13th. For more than 30 years she ran the very well known Chess Club Caissa of Paris.
For many, she was the most exquisite and obliging person and a chain smoker.
