Kristol Lyubol Danielovna (26.05.1944)
International Grandmaster in Correspondence Chess 1976 (woman) and 1984 (man). Kristol is also an Archaeologist. She was born in Russia and moved to Israel in 1976. Winner of several Israeli Women’s championships.
She was also a participant in the Women’s Olympiads of 1976 1980, 1988 and 1990. In the Olympiad in 1976, Kristol won with the Israeli team the gold Olympic medal and was also awarded the bronze medal for the third best individual performance at board two.
Kristol left classical chess to play correspondence games. Soon she became one of the strongest female players in the field when she was declared the winner of the third and fifth World Correspondence Women’s Championship 1978-1984 and 1993-1998. She was a participant in the 14th CC World championship final where she drew with Tunc Hamarat, Anton, Grigory Sanakoev, Joop Van Oosterom and Juan Morgado.
