Best results: Winner at Beverwijk in 1954 and was the joint winner at the Dutch championship in 1967. He was also the winner in Detmold 1951.
He is most of all famous for his chess books. A whole generation of chess players grew up with one of his books (Prima Schaakbook) in the hand.
