Uzbek-Soviet Correspondence Grandmaster (1966). Master of Sport (1950). Twice USSR Correspondence Champion in 1957 and 1962. Uzbekistani champion in 1966, 1968 and 1971. Second in the World Correspondence Championship in 1965.
As a OTB player, he participated in eight USSR championships and had also some interesting victories against Viktor Korchnoi, Vassily Smyslov, Boris Spassky and Mikhail Tal.
His wife, Venlina Borisenko-Belova, also a strong player was one the best female of Soviet Union in the 1960’s.
