Olland Adolf Georg (13.04.1867 – 22.07.1933)

Olland-Adolf-GeorgDutch leading player at the beginning of the twentieth century. Dutch champion in 1909. Medical doctor.

Best results: won or shared first at Haarlem 1901 and finished second at Amsterdam 1899.

He played 29 matches from 1893 to 1928. Won against all Dutch players except Euwe to whom he lost twice. He lost to all foreigners who included Charles Jaffé, Richard Reti (twice), Edgar Colle and Geza Maroczy.

Olland died of a heart attack while playing in the 1933 Dutch championship.
