Naegeli Prof. Dr. Oskar (25.02.1885 – 19.11.1959)

Naegeli-Prof.-Dr.-OskarSwiss player, also a doctor of medicine. He studied at Geneva, Munich, and Heidelberg, obtaining his medical doctorate at Zurich in 1909. He specialized in dermatology and venereology at Bern, becoming Ausserordentlicher Professor in 1917 and director of the university dermatological clinic, his work concerning immunity research in dermatology and syphilology. Best Swiss chess player between World Wars I and II and Swiss Champion in 1910 and 1936.

Best results: Bern 1932, 1st; Bern 1925, 3rd.

A participant in the Olympiads of 1927, 1928, 1931, 1935 and 1936 (non-official).

In matches, he lost to Ossip Bernstein in 1932 (+1-3), lost to Salo Flohr in 1933 (+1-3=2), drew with Henri Grob in 1933 (+3-3) and defeated Henri Grob in 1934 (+5-1).
