Gelfer-Israel Strong Israeli player and coach who participated in the 1970 Olympiad and four Student Olympiads (1966-1971).

Winner of the World Student Blitz championship in 1968 and three times Israeli Blitz champion. Honorary FIDE Vice President 2006-2010, FIDE Vice President 2010-2018.

Author of Positional Chess Handbook which was translated in five languages. Former coach of Yakov Murey, Yona Koshashvili and some other grandmasters.
