Loshinsky Leo Iljich (17.01.1913 – 19.02.1976)

Soviet chess composer. International Grandmaster (1972) and International Judge (1956) in chess compositions. Mathematician.

Since 1928 Loshinsky published about 500 compositions of various genres. He was awarded gold and bronze medals by FIDE in 1958-60 in three-move compositions; in 1960-62 he was awarded silver medals in three-movers competition.

Fourteen times he won USSR championships in various genres. One hundred and ninety-four problems were published in FIDE Albums 1914-79.

Author of The Theme of the Changing of Play devoted to two-move compositions.
