Zvjaginsev, Vadim (18.08.1976)

ZvjaginsievRussian Grandmaster (1994). European Champion U16 in 1991.

Vadim started chess at 7 mainly coached by the famous Mark Dvoretsky. After few good national results, he decided to finish his studies in economics at the Moscow University before becoming professional around 1995.

With the Russian team, he collected gold and silver medals at the  World Team championship in Luzern 1997 and  at the Euro Team championship in 1997.
A participant in the World Championships in 1997, 2001 and 2004 and in the Olympiads between 1994 and 2004 where he won two team gold medals.

Best results: won or shared first at Loosdorf 1993, Stockerau IM (CZE) 1993, St. Petersburg 1994, Vidmar Memorial (SLO) 1997, Russian Cup finals 1998, Essen 1999, J Borowski (GER) 2000, Russian Cup 2011, Chigorin Memorial 2013, Manhattan Open 2015. Also fourth in the Russian Championship in 2005.

Peak rating: 2688 in 2012.
