Vladimirov Evgeny (20.01.1957)
Kazakh Grandmaster (1989) born in Uzbekistan. Journalist and coach in India. Started to play chess at 10, the year he moved with his family to Kazakhstan. Studied journalism and became a chess professional in 1977. Among his successes are the second place in the USSR U20 in 1975), second place in the USSR Youth Master 1975 and 1981, and was a member of the USSR Team winner of the World Team U25 in 1981. Salama[U1] in 1991, ahead of Spassky, Korchnoi, Leon. Berlin 1989, Hyderabad and the Zonal 2000. Participated in the World Championship in 2000 and lost round 3 to Morozevich. He played with the Team of Kazakhstan in the 2000 Olympiad in Istanbul. Is probably better known as a coach with some prestigious “pupils” like Kasparov 1981-86; Tukmakov, Ehlvest, Dreev and the Indian Team. Best ELO: 2628 in 2004.
