Tringov Georgi Petrov (07.03.1937 – 02.07.2000)

Tringov-Georgi-PetrovBulgarian Grandmaster (1963). Bulgarian Champion in 1963, 1981 and 1985, shared the third-fourth place in 1953 and 1955. In the period of 1956-82, he played in 11 Chess World Olympiads and showed the best results in 1968 in the eighteenth Olympiad where he made 11 points out 14 and won the first place at board 2, and in 1978, the twenty-third Olympiad he scored the first place at board 3 with 8,5 points out of 11. Tringov won the FIDE Zonal at Kescskemet in 1964. Won or shared the victory at Vrsac 1973 together with Parma, Plovdiv 1977 and 1981, Smederevo 1981, Prague 1984 shared with four others , Asenovgrad 1986 or being prize-holder at Marianske Lazne 1962 where he was equal second, at  Buzum 1968 was the second, at Sarajevo 1970 was equal third, in Varna 1970 and Havana 1971 was the third, in Birmingham 1974 and  Plovdiv 1975 acted the second, in Vinkovci 1976 was third equal with Polugaevsky, in Belgrade 1979 shared the third place, Sonbor 1980 and Vrnjacka Banja 1982  was the third, in Kraguevatz 1984 and 1985 shared third position and in Pula 1987, was equal third in the field of 470 contestants.
