Indian Grandmaster (2000). Asian Champion in 2003, Indian Champion in 2002 and 2003, he finished twice second at the Indian Championship in 2000 and 2001. Asian Junior Champion in 1999 Starting chess at 9 years of age, he finished twice second in the Asian U16 in 1995 and 1996. One year later, he got his first major title by winning the Commonwealth Junior Championship in 1997. U21 British Champion in 1998 and also in 1999. Winner or shared first at Balaguer 1998, Andorra Open 1998, Vung Tau 1999, Sangli Intl and Commonwealth Champion in 2000; Pentamedia 2001, Hastings 2001, Asian Zonal 3.2 in 2001, Politiken Cup 2003, North Sea Cup 2003, Vlessingen 2004, Parsvath Intl 2004, Benasque Open 2005, La Roche sur Yon, Aeroflot Open 2006, Kolkata Open 2008, Najdorf Memorial (POL) 2008. A participant in the Olympiads since 1998. A member of the Indian team which won the gold at the 2006 Asian Games. Best ELO: 2711 in 2009, he was the 25th world ranked.
