Rogoff Kenneth Saul (22.03.1953)
US Grandmaster (1978). Very talented player but Kenneth left chess in 1980 to finish his studies at Yale University. Rogoff received a B.A. from Yale University summa cum laude in 1975, and a Ph.D. in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1980. Won thrice the US championships in 1969, 1970 and 1971.
US Master at 14. Rogoff was third in the World Junior Championship in 1971, equal first in Norristown 1973, and second in the US Championship 1975. A participant in the Interzonal Tournament in Biel in 1976 where he finished 14th.
Best results in the international tournaments: Orense 1976; 1st-3rd; Lone Pine 1976, 2nd-10th.
