Razuvaev Yuri Sergeyevich (10.10.1945-21.03.2012)
Russian Grandmaster (1976), FIDE Senior Trainer (2005). Honorary trainer of Russia-1977. Between 1973-78 he was coaching the World Champion Anatoly Karpov (together with Grandmaster S.Furman). Between 1978-82 he was assisting the World Champion Vassily Smyslov. Between 1982-94, he was the Chairman of the Trainers Committee of the Russian Chess Federation and between 1998-2008, Chairman of the FIDE Trainers Committee. Trainer of the national teams of USSR and Russia at the Olympiads and European Team Championships. In 2008 he was coaching Alexandra Kosteniuk when she became Women’s World Champion.
A participant in the 1984 match Soviet Union-the Rest of the World, at board 7 against Robert Huebner (2-2).
Best results: winner or shared first at Dubna 1978, Polanica 1979, London 1983, Dortmund 1985, Jurmala 1987, Pula 1988, Protvino 1988, Reykjavik 1990, Leningrad 1992, Tiraspol 1994, Reggio Emilia 1996, San Sebastian 1996 and joint USSR Young Master’s Champion in 1971.
