Armenia. Samvel Ter-Sahakyan triumped at the 80th Armenian Championship with half a point clear (6/9) ahead of Haik M. Martirosyan and Robert Hovhannisyan (5.5/9).

Austria. The 3rd Schilcherland Open in Deutschlandsberg was won by Gergely Antal, who became the champion on tie-break edged out Toms Kantans. They finished on 7/9 points.

Brazil. At the 6th Floripa Open in Florianopolis, Guillermo Vazquez won the tournament on a big tie-break from Neuris Delgado Ramirez, Robert Hungaski, Felipe El Debs, Alexandr Fier and Krikor Sevag Mekhitarian. All these players scored 8/10.

China. Zhou Jianchao took a clear first at the 2nd Binhai Cup in Tianjin with 7.5/9 points. S. P. Sethuraman took the second place with 7/9.

Wenjun Ju defended her Women’s World Champion title against Aleksandra Goryachkina in Shanghai/Vladivostok after winning the match on the rapid tie-breaks 2.5-1.5.

Denmark. Ferenc Berkes won the Xtracon Invite Chess in Gilleleje with a clear half (7/9).

England. The Indian GM, Panchanathan Magesh Chandran won the 95th Caplin Hastings Congress with a clear half point (7.5/9) ahead of Romain Edouard (7/9).

David Paravyan won the Gibraltar Chess Festival in Caleta after an Armageddon tie-break against Andrey Esipenko. There was a big tie-break on the main tournament (seven players finished with 7.5/10 points).

Germany. At the 32nd Staufer Open in Schwaebisch Gmuend, Jan-Christian Schroeder took a clear first with 7.5/9 points.

Guatemala. The 2nd Caissa Guatemala Open in Guatemala City was won by Nikola Mitkov on tie-break ahead of Alfonso Romero Holmes, Sandro Mareco and Cristobal Henriquez Villagra. All of them reached 7/9 points.

India. The Indian GM, Sandipan Chanda triumphed at the 5th EKA IIFL Mumbai Open on tie-break edged out Chakkravarthy J. Deepan. They both finished with 7.5/9 points.

At the 18th Delhi Open in New Delhi, Abhijeet Gupta took a clear first with 8.5/10 points ahead of Aleksej Aleksandrov, Pavel Ponkratov, Levan Pantsulaia and M. Pranesh. They collected 8/10 points.

The 12th Chennai Open was won by Pavel Ponkratov on a huge tie-break edged out Jose Eduardo Martinez Alcantara, Sergei Yudin, Aleksej Aleksandrov, Ivan Rozum, Stanislav Bogdanovich, Kirill Stupak and V Vishnu Prasanna. All these players scored 8/10.

Iran. The Iranian Championship in Tehran was won by Ehsan Ghaem Maghami on tie-break ahead of Aryan Gholami. They gained 8.5/11 points.

Ireland. At the Gonzaga Classic Masters in Dublin, Constantin Lupulescu took the title on tie-break from Oleg Korneev, Matthew Turner, Sergi Tiviako and Tarun Kanyamarala. All these players finished on 4/5 points.

Italy. Samvel Ter-Sahakyan dominated and won the Montebelluna January Elite tournament (4th Vergani Cup) after scoring 7.5/9. The Peruvian GM, Jose Eduardo Martinez Alcantara reached the second place with 6.5/9 points.

Slovenia. The Croatian GM, Zdenko Kozul took a clear first at the 25th HIT Open in Nova Gorica. He reached 7/9 points.

Spain. At the 31st Roquetas de Mar Open, Vitaliy Bernadskiy won the title on tie-break from Karen Grigoryan. They both collected 7.5/9 points.

Kirill Shevchenko took a clear first at the 45th Seville Open with an amazing performance, 8.5/9 points. Karen Grigoryan reached the second place on tie break from Andrey Shariyazdanov, Qi B Chen and Carlos S. Matamoros Franco. They scored 7.5/9.

Sweden. The American GM, Elshan Moradiabadi won the 49th Rilton Cup in Stockholm on tie-break ahead of Arseniy Nesterov. Both of them finished with 7/9 points.

Switzerland. The Basel Schachfestival was won by the Armenian GM, Haik M. Martirosyan, who took a clear first with 6,5/7. Andrei Istratescu took the second place on tie-break ahead of 2 other players with 6/7 points.

The Netherlands. Fabiano Caruana dominated and took a clear first at the 82nd Tata Steel Chess tournament with 10/13 points ahead of Magnus Carlsen (8/13) and Wesley So (7.5/13). David Anton Guijarro won the B Group with half a point clear (8.5/13).

U.S.A. At the PNWCC Winter Norm Invitational in Kirkland, Jianchao Zhou won the event on tie-break edged out Paval Vorontsov. They both collected 6/9 points.

Austria. At The Graz Open, the Ukrainian GM, Kirill Shevchenko won the title with a clear half point (7.5/9).

Cuba. Carlos Daniel Albornoz Cabrera became the champion at the 57th Cuban Championship in Villa Clara. He took a clear first with 7.5/11 points.

Czech Republic. The 2nd Prague Masters was won by the Iranian GM, Alireza Firouzja after defeating Gujrathi Vidit Santosh on the final tie-break. Jorden Van Foreest won the Challangers Group with 6/9 points.

France. The Indian GM, D Gukesh won the 34th Cannes Open with half a point clear (7.5/9).

The 36th Cappelle-la-Grande Open was won by Jules Moussard with 8/9 points.

Ireland. Nigel Short took a clear first at the 27th Bunratty Chess Festival after reaching 5/6 points.

Portugal. At the Portugal Open in Lisbon, Karen H. Grigoryan took a clear first with 7.5/9 points. 8 players finished with 7/9 points.

Russia. Sergei Lobanov won the 16th Moscow Open with a clear half point (7.5/9).

Spain. The Armenian GM, Karen H. Grigoryan dominated and took a clear first at the 2nd Compostela Masters with 7.5/9 points.

Sweden. The Elite Hotels Vaxjo Open was won by  Baadur Jobava on a big tie-break from Erik Blomqvist, Kaan Kucuksari, Jung Min Seo, Jonny Hector, Ari Ziegler and Ralf Akesson. All these players scored 6.5/8.

Switzerland. The Swiss GM, Vadim Milov took a clear first at the 19th Burgdorfer Stadthaus-Open in Burgdorf with a perfect performance (5/5 points).

Tunisia. Maxime Lagarde was the clear winner of the Go-Makkah Masters in Djerba. He collected 7.5/9 points. Sergei Tiviakov took the second place with 7/9.

U.S.A. At the 2nd Cairns Cup in Saint Louis, Humpy Koneru became the champion with half a point clear (6/9) ahead of Wenjun Ju (5.5/9).

Greece. The Chinese GM, Zeng Chongsheng dominated and won the 6th Vardaris Open in Thessaloniki with one and a half points clear.

The Netherlands. The Dutch GM, Dimitri Reinderman won the 12th Batavia Chess in Amsterdam with a clear point (7.5/9).
